Dr. Sandy as she is affectionately known is committed and involved:
I am amazed that I have been influenced so much by family and friends while on this journey. I am particularly proud of my husband who said, “If not now, when? This is your time to run and I will be the Wind beneath your Wings.”
I value family, friends, community, education, and most importantly, the children within this community—these are just a few of my values!
Commitment to Open Communication; create, support and promote an environment where teachers, students, staff and administrators feel safe -emotionally and physically.
Honor and respect all employees and students while supporting, encouraging and increasing school morale.
Approach the community with transparency so that they will know what is happening within the school district and any changes that may occur.
Make curriculum review one of my top priorities in order to stay abreast of the technological changes to meet the needs of Fulton County’s students so they are globally astute and technologically advanced.
Promote teacher leadership where teachers can optimize on opportunities for advancement within the school district; provide age-appropriate tools for our student for personal growth and development.
Invest in programs that are sustainable for students socially, academically, physically and emotinal needs. Invest in way to increase literacy rates.
Open discussions with legislators, external and internal stakeholders, and the community to improve our schools and to close the equity gap.
Notice and celebrate all the successes of the administrators, teachers, support staff and students within our school district.
